Woodstock, Vermont, has no shortage of wonderful restaurants, but sometimes you’re looking for something a little more casual. A really good burger, a crispy fried chicken sandwich, a poke bowl, beef tallow fries, a cold Vermont craft beer and a place where you can settle in without making an entire occasion out of dinner.
That’s exactly where Worthy Kitchen Local favorite: Worthy Kitchen in Woodstock, Vermont, comes in.
Located along Route 4, just outside the village center, Worthy Kitchen has become a favorite for its farm-to-table comfort food, extensive craft beer selection and laid-back atmosphere. It’s one of those restaurants that works equally well after a day of exploring Woodstock, hiking nearby trails or spending an afternoon shopping in the village.
And while its sister restaurant, Worthy Burger in South Royalton, might be best known for burgers, Worthy Kitchen offers a broader menu with plenty of reasons to visit.

Farm-to-Table Comfort Food Done Right
Worthy Kitchen, the sister restaurant to Worthy Burger in South Royalton, takes familiar comfort food and elevates it through thoughtful ingredients, creative flavor combinations and an emphasis on sourcing from local farms and producers.
The menu features everything from burgers and fried chicken sandwiches to salads, wings, shareable appetizers and seasonal specials. It’s approachable food with enough creativity to keep things interesting, and the portions are satisfying.
The Kitchen Burger features a local beef patty topped with cheddar, pickles, red onion, lettuce and secret sauce. If you’re looking for something a little richer, the Blue Burger adds bacon, blue cheese, crispy onions and garlic aioli.
But don’t overlook the fried chicken.
The OG Chicken Sandwich keeps things simple with a crispy fried chicken thigh, pickles and ranch dressing. For something with a little more personality, the Korean BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich combines fried chicken with Korean BBQ sauce, house kimchi, scallions and a spicy sauce.
I love a restaurant where deciding between a burger and fried chicken is genuinely difficult.
Don’t Skip the Appetizers and Fries
If you’re visiting with a group, I’d recommend starting with a few things to share.
The spent grain pretzel bites, made locally by The Bread Shed, are served with cheddar beer cheese and make an excellent accompaniment to a Vermont craft beer.
Worthy Kitchen’s wings are another standout, brined in-house, twice-fried and available with sauces including Buffalo, maple bacon and house BBQ.
And then there are the fries.
Hand-cut and cooked in beef tallow, Worthy Fries are wonderfully crispy, with an option to add truffle and Parmesan. You can also go all in with poutine, featuring local Maplebrook cheddar cheese curds, gravy and scallions.
If you have room for dessert, the cinnamon-sugar Worthy Donuts served with vanilla bean anglaise are another tempting way to finish your meal.

A Destination for Vermont Craft Beer Lovers
Worthy Kitchen isn’t just a restaurant. It’s also a great destination for anyone who appreciates Vermont’s exceptional craft beer scene.
The rotating draft selection features beers from Vermont and beyond, with a changing mix of IPAs, lagers, pilsners, stouts and other styles depending on availability.
Part of the fun is seeing what’s on tap when you visit. Vermont has no shortage of outstanding breweries, and Worthy Kitchen makes it easy to enjoy a variety of them in one place.
Whether you’re a dedicated craft beer enthusiast or simply want something refreshing to accompany your meal, the beer program is a major part of the experience.
Casual Dining Near Downtown Woodstock
One of the things I appreciate about Worthy Kitchen is that it doesn’t feel overly formal, especially in a destination known for its beautiful inns and upscale dining experiences.
The atmosphere is relaxed and lively, with indoor dining, bar seating and outdoor seating during warmer weather. It’s family-friendly, welcoming to groups and a convenient stop for travelers exploring the Woodstock area.
The ordering experience is casual, with guests typically ordering at the counter or bar before their food is brought to the table.
And while the restaurant is located outside the main village center, it’s just a short drive from downtown Woodstock, making it easy to incorporate into a day of sightseeing.

Worthy Kitchen vs. Worthy Burger: What’s the Difference?
If you’ve visited Worthy Burger in South Royalton, you’ll recognize the same commitment to quality ingredients, excellent burgers and Vermont craft beer.
But the two restaurants offer slightly different experiences.
Worthy Burger is the original location, housed in a historic freight building in South Royalton, with a menu centered around wood-fired burgers, fried chicken sandwiches and fries.
Worthy Kitchen offers a broader selection of comfort food, including additional appetizers, salads, sandwiches and other dishes, making it particularly appealing when you’re dining with a group that wants a little more variety.
Both are worth visiting, especially if you’re someone who appreciates great casual food and craft beer.
