A Vermont farm might not be the first place you think to look for breakfast tacos, but here’s a reason to change your Friday morning routine. At Bread and Butter Farm Local favorite: Bread and Butter Farm in Shelburne, Blank Page Cafe hosts Breakfast Taco Fridays every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Order ahead, pick up something hot and let breakfast be a little more interesting than whatever you were going to eat standing at the kitchen counter.
I love having a food stop to plan a morning around, particularly when it brings you somewhere beyond the usual restaurant strip. This one takes you off Cheesefactory Road to a working farm near the Shelburne–South Burlington line, about seven miles south of Burlington. The café shares space with the farm store, giving you another reason to leave a few extra minutes for your visit.

What’s in the Breakfast Tacos?
The tortillas are part of the draw. Blank Page Cafe hand-presses and grills them on-site using fresh masa from Burlington’s All Souls Tortilleria. They’re filled with local cheddar and organic scrambled eggs from Doolittle Farm, then topped with cabbage and fresh herbs. Rotating proteins have included pastured pulled pork, chorizo and barbacoa made with Bread and Butter Farm’s grass-fed beef.
That’s a breakfast with a real connection to the place where you’re picking it up. Vermont ingredients aren’t just a passing mention on the menu; they help shape the whole offering, right down to the locally sourced masa.
The tacos are made to order, and the café says toppings can be customized. Check the week’s options before ordering rather than assuming a particular filling will always be available. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, ask the café directly about ingredients and preparation.

Add Coffee and a Farm Store Stop
Blank Page Cafe has been serving customers at the farm since 2016. Alongside its Friday tacos, it offers coffee and gluten-free baked goods, with a changing selection available through its online store.
The café works with Burlington’s Brio Coffeeworks and offers brewed coffee, along with specialty drinks such as maple butter coffee. I’d be inclined to make this a breakfast-and-coffee stop, then look through the farm store before heading out. Check the current menu if there’s a particular drink or baked good you’re hoping to find.
This doesn’t need to become an elaborate outing. Sometimes a good Friday plan is simply picking up breakfast somewhere you wouldn’t pass on your regular commute.

What to Know Before You Go
Bread and Butter Farm is at 200 Leduc Farm Road in Shelburne, with the driveway accessed from Cheesefactory Road between Dorset Street and Hinesburg Road. Follow signs for the farm and café when you arrive.
Breakfast tacos are available Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon, a shorter window than the café’s regular weekday hours. Preorders are recommended because the tacos can sell out, although walk-ups are welcome. Service is to go, with no indoor seating, so plan for pickup rather than a sit-down brunch. Outdoor cooking and setup depend on the weather.
Use the online farm store to check current prices and place your order. Contact the café before visiting if you need information about accessible pickup or parking arrangements.
And set a reminder for Friday morning. By the time you start thinking about lunch, taco service may already be over.
