Terms of Service

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of travelikealocalvt.com and the Travel Like a Local software that runs it, including its connection to QuickBooks Online (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Travel Like a Local (“we”, “us”). By using the Service or connecting a QuickBooks company to it, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Travel Like a Local publishes local guides to Vermont and runs a partner and sponsorship program. Our software connects to QuickBooks Online to create customers, invoices, estimates, payments and expenses in the QuickBooks company you choose, and to read reports such as profit and loss, so that billing for the program stays in step with your books.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or misuse the Service, or use it to break the law or the terms of any connected service.

3. QuickBooks connection

Connecting is optional and is done through Intuit’s own sign-in. You authorize us to access the chosen QuickBooks company only with the permissions shown on Intuit’s consent screen. You can disconnect at any time from the Service’s settings or from your Intuit account (Apps → Manage). Disconnecting stops all further access; records already created in QuickBooks stay there. Your use of QuickBooks remains subject to Intuit’s own terms.

4. Your data

You keep ownership of your data. We use it only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Access tokens are stored encrypted, and we do not sell your data.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for reviewing invoices and entries before relying on them, and for keeping your accounts secure. The Service does not give tax, legal or accounting advice.

6. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version; continued use after a change means you accept it.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken. Sections 4, 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
