If you’re looking for one of the coolest hotel experiences within driving distance of Vermont, put this one on your Beyond Vermont list. In downtown Toronto, the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel is built directly into Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays, with a collection of hotel rooms overlooking the baseball field. Yes, you can actually watch a Major League Baseball game without leaving your hotel room.
There are just 55 field-view rooms at the Toronto Marriott City Centre, offering different perspectives of Rogers Centre from the sidelines to rooms positioned high above the field. Pull back the curtains and instead of looking out over a city street or neighboring building, you’re looking directly into a Major League Baseball stadium. Binoculars are even provided in the room so you can get a closer look at everything happening below.

What It’s Like to Stay in a Hotel Room Overlooking Rogers Centre
The experience starts well before the first pitch. One of my favorite parts of staying here was simply watching Rogers Centre come to life throughout the day. From your room, you can watch the grounds crew meticulously prepare the field, see batting practice unfold below and watch players and staff move through their pregame routines.
And then there’s the roof.
Rogers Centre’s massive retractable roof is one of the stadium’s defining features, and if you’re lucky enough to be in your room when it opens or closes, you get a completely different perspective on just how enormous it is. Watching the stadium transform beneath you is part of what makes staying here interesting even outside of the game itself.
Watch a Toronto Blue Jays Game From Your Hotel Room
Once the game starts, your hotel room essentially becomes your own private viewing space. Stretch out on the bed, order room service, grab a drink or gather around the window and watch the Toronto Blue Jays play below.
During games, each stadium-view room can accommodate up to five registered guests, making this an experience you can split with friends or family rather than reserving multiple stadium seats. If you’re traveling with kids, it also gives you considerably more flexibility than spending an entire game in traditional seats.
You don’t necessarily need separate game tickets to experience the atmosphere from your room. You can stay upstairs and watch everything unfold through the window. Or, if you do have tickets, head down to your seats for part of the game and return to your room afterward. Having your hotel literally attached to the stadium makes getting back at the end of the night exceptionally easy.

Choosing a Stadium-View Room at the Toronto Marriott City Centre
The important thing to know when booking is that not every room at the Toronto Marriott City Centre overlooks the field. You’ll want to specifically look for one of the stadium or field-view room categories.
There are different vantage points throughout the hotel, so the exact view will vary depending on the room you’re assigned. Some provide more traditional sideline perspectives, while others give you a higher view over Rogers Centre.
If watching a game from your room is the reason you’re booking, I would also check the Toronto Blue Jays home schedule before choosing your dates. A stadium-view room is interesting anytime, but seeing the building transform from an empty field into a packed Major League Baseball stadium is what makes the experience particularly memorable.

A Unique Toronto Road Trip From Vermont
For Vermonters, Toronto makes a great Beyond Vermont road trip when you want something completely different without getting on a plane. Once you’re there, staying at Rogers Centre also puts you right in downtown Toronto, with the CN Tower next door and restaurants, waterfront attractions and plenty more within walking distance.
You could easily build an entire weekend around a Blue Jays game, spend some time exploring Toronto and make the hotel itself one of the main experiences of the trip rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
Baseball fan or not, there aren’t many hotels where pulling back your bedroom curtains reveals an MLB field.
So the real question is: if you stayed here during a Blue Jays game, would you watch from your hotel room or head downstairs to your seats?
