Where, oh where, has Erin gone?
Hello friends near and far! Erin here. Thanks—as always—for stopping by, for reading, and for sharing your own thoughts on exploring Vermont like a local. You all are truly the best! I love the notes, the inquiries for custom itineraries, the last-minute questions about where you should go for a night away, where you can find the best beer/maple creemee/burger/lodging/you name it in the state that I receive. Nothing makes me happier than talking Vermont and sharing the best of the best within Vermont with all of you.
For those for follow me regularly, you’ve likely realized I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus (okay, admittedly a long hiatus) from writing regularly. The reason? Don’t worry; I haven’t stopped traveling. I haven’t stopped going out to eat or drinking beer, or any tragedies like that (although, really, my waistline and liver would likely appreciate a little break from the craft beer…)
The reason? I started a killer new job with a real estate expansion team within Keller Williams Realty Vermont in September, and the transition required my full focus. Real estate has always intrigued me… I love homes, I love architecture, and we all know, I’m extremely passionate about where I live (#lovewhereyoulive – it’s a thing). I used to say to myself that in another life, I’d be a realtor…
But, something better happened. I’m a marketer through and through, so I was oh-so-fortunate to find an expansion team within KWVermont where I could lead the marketing efforts for (currently) over 15 real estate teams throughout the US, with one based in Colchester. With this move, I had to get up to speed incredibly quickly on a new market and wholly new marketing techniques. I’ve been living and breathing real estate and have been getting to know Vermont even better through the process. (If any of you ever need a Realtor recommendation in Vermont, be in touch for some recos, and if you’ve ever considered becoming a Realtor or joining KW, shout at me too to start the conversation!)
Given the new office digs are in Colchester, I also made the move up to the big city of Burlington (well, a surrounding town to be precise) and moved in with my beau, Nick. Moving is also time consuming… I had been living in my house in Middlebuy (which is still on the market, folks – a killer back yard and cost-effective living!) and it was time for a serious purge… How good to I feel without the material nonsense? I can’t even describe it. But, I digress.
Making the move from Middlebury to the Burlington area has opened up a lot more exploring of our great state within an hour or two drive. When you open your eyes to experience all that’s around you, there’s plenty to keep you busy, keep you interested, and keep you #vermonting in the Green Mountain State. How fortunate are we to live (or play) in some a great, great place?
A Renewed Focus
Part of my resolutions in the new year are centered around a renewed focus on me… and part of that (aside from getting in bikini body shape, finally selling my house, and valuing experiences over things!) is doing something I love daily, which is writing. Writing about Vermont? Even better. So soon you’ll be seeing even more recommendations, small businesses to support, itineraries to travel, and, yes, craft beers to drink. Have an idea for a feature? Interested in a custom itinerary? Want to generate more traffic to your website through advertising? Say hello. Comment below. I look forward to sharing even more adventures with all of you.

Cheers to all of you, and thank you for being part of this journey I’m on. I’m a lucky girl.
