One of my favorite parts of Christmas is shopping for stocking stuffers. Just because the gifts are tiny doesn’t mean you can’t come up with inventive gifts to fill up a stocking. Plus, if you want to gift useful Vermont-made stocking stuffers, there are so many options for things like lip balms, socks, soaps and more. I could fill the biggest stocking hanging from my chimney with care with Vermont-made stocking stuffers. Think maple syrup nips, maple candies, chocolate bars, meat sticks, and more made-in-Vermont Stocking Stuffer Gift Ideas.
Here are some of my top choices for Vermont stocking stuffers this holiday season. What are your favorite Vermont stocking stuffers? Share below to keep the conversation going.
Made-in Vermont Stocking Stuffer Ideas
Vermont Smoke & Cure Real Sticks
Growing up, my sister ate Slim Jims like they were going out of business. I never found beef sticks appetizing until I discovered Vermont Smoke & Cure’s Real Sticks that are made with lean local meats without sodium nitrate and any preservatives. Most are also under 100 calories, so they’re a good source of flavor and energy for the kids or adults in your life. I personally like the Pepperoni Turkey, Cracked Pepper Beef and Pork and Honey Mustard Turkey best, but there are a number of good flavors to try.
Farmhouse Pottery Match Striker
Farmhouse Pottery, based in Woodstock, Vermont, has so many tiny gifts that pack a big punch for a stocking. Personally, I love those Milk Bottle Match Striker. It’s adorable for a mantel and functional for lighting your woodstove or fireplace. They also have a collection of stocking stuffer ideas, from a muddler and cheese knives to sea salt and candles.
Maple Lip Balm
In the dead of winter in Vermont, we all need a little lip balm. This Maple Beak Balm from Wrenhouse is one of my favorites. Not only is it all-natural, but it also contains pure Vermont maple syrup. You can score a four-pack for $13.99 and add it to everyone in your family’s stockings this year.
Locally Made Soap from Elmore Mountain Farm
I love handcrafted soaps, especially the offerings from Elmore Mountain Farm. They are all goats’ milk and come in beautiful scents from Bergamot Rosewood to Cedarwood Spruce to Fennel, Lavender, Lemongrass, Pumpkin, Spruce Orange, and so many others. Choose their Christmas Soap ($5.25) for a festive option.
Bee’s Wrap
Made in Middlebury, Vermont, Bee’s Wrap is an awesome reusable and sustainable food storage alternative to plastic wrap. I’ve been using mine for a few years now, and I can’t get enough of it. Made with beeswax, certified cotton, organic jojoba oil and tree resin, it’s perfect for wrapping up a sandwich, a baguette or covering a bowl. You clean it by running it under cool water, and it’s ready to use again. There are a few different sizes, and it can be purchased online or in a variety of stores across the country now.
More Made-in Vermont Stocking Stuffer Gifts
Darn Tough Socks
Yes, gifting socks for Christmas is usually boring, but not when you’re giving Vermont-made Darn Tough socks ($20) that are guaranteed for life. Yes, wool socks that are made to last; if they ever get a hole, you ship them back to Darn Tough and they’ll send along a new pair in the same style. So go ahead and stick a pair in someone’s stocking this year. You’ll be keeping their feet toasty for many winters to come. For extra points, get a pair with cushioned bottoms, perfecting for hiking and treking across the Green Mountain State.
Lake Champlain Chocolate Bars
Candy is a must in every Christmas stocking. I often pick up maple candies or Lake Champlain’s chocolate coins, but if you’re really going for something special, try a Lake Champlain Chocolates Signature Chocolate Bar ($4). They’re made in small batches and in a number of flavors from rum caramel- and raspberry-filled to dark chocolate peppermint and hazelnut praline.
Way Out Wax Candles
Way Out Wax, a Vermont company located in North Hyde Park Vermont, started as a dip-your-own candle shop in Burlington. Now, they’re focused on producing environmentally friendly, all-natural aromatherapy candles made with soy wax. I love their Green Mountain Collection with scents like Clear Head, Northern Forest, Lavender and Patchouli. My favorites are the Sweet Dreams and Cozy Home candles. You can buy a medium-sized travel tin for $7.90, which is the perfect size for a stocking.
