Forget the matching outfits and crowded nightclubs. I’d much rather spend a weekend at a beautiful inn, enjoy some great meals, book a spa treatment and explore a part of Vermont I haven’t spent much time in. Vermont is a wonderful destination for a girls’ weekend, with options ranging from luxury resorts and boutique hotels to lakeside cottages. And you can make the weekend as relaxed or activity-filled as you’d like. [Woodstock](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/woodstock/), the [Mad River Valley](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/mad-river-valley/) and [Burlington](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/burlington/) are longtime favorites, but I’d also add [Stowe](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/stowe/) and [Manchester](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/manchester/) to the list. Both have excellent restaurants, beautiful accommodations and plenty of activities for a weekend with friends. Here are six Vermont destinations I’d consider for a bachelorette weekend, with recommendations for where to stay, eat and spend your time. ![Vermont Bachelorette Party Ideas](https://travelikealocalvt.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/VermontBacheloretteParties.webp) ## Woodstock: A Luxury Bachelorette Weekend Woodstock is one of my favorite Vermont towns for a girls’ getaway, particularly if you’re looking for a little pampering. **Where to Stay:** The Woodstock Inn & Resort is my pick. Located right in the village, it has beautiful accommodations, several dining options and a wonderful spa. The outdoor hot tub and relaxation areas are a big part of the appeal. **Where to Eat:** The Red Rooster and Richardson’s Tavern offer on-site dining. For something casual, head to [Worthy Kitchen](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/worthy-kitchen/) for burgers and Vermont craft beer. [Simon Pearce](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/simon-pearce/) in nearby Quechee is another favorite for a special lunch or dinner overlooking the Ottauquechee River. [Oakes and Evelyn](https://travelikealocalvt.com/oakes-evelyn-woodstock-vermont/) is a great choice too for a girls’ night! [Au Comptoir](https://travelikealocalvt.com/au-comptoir-woodstock-vermont/) is a must for cocktails (or a mixology class). **What to Do:** Book spa treatments, explore Woodstock’s independently owned shops or take a pottery wheel workshop at [Farmhouse Pottery](https://travelikealocalvt.com/farmhouse-pottery-wheel-workshop/). Its individually designed rooms, excellent service and fine dining make it a great choice for a special celebration. **Where to Eat:** [The Mad Taco](https://travelikealocalvt.com/mad-taco-waitsfield-vermont/) in Waitsfield is a favorite for smoked meats, margaritas and Vermont craft beer. For a more formal dinner, book a table at The Pitcher Inn, then head downstairs to [Tracks Tavern](https://travelikealocalvt.com/tracks-tavern-mad-river-valley/) for an after-dinner drink. [Canteen Creemee Company](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/canteen-creemee-company/) is another stop I’d recommend for something sweet. **What to Do:** Browse the Warren Store, go for a hike, bike or swimming hole excursion, or book a massage at Mad River Massage. During warmer months, explore the valley’s waterfalls and scenic roads. [Lawson’s Finest Liquids](https://travelikealocalvt.com/from-waiting-in-line-for-beer-to-one-of-vermonts-best-breweries-lawsons-finest-liquids/) is also a fun stop for craft beer enthusiasts. ## Burlington: Cocktails & a Night Out If you’re planning a bachelorette party with a little more nightlife, Burlington is an easy choice for a “city fix”. You can walk between restaurants, bars and shops without needing to drive everywhere. **Where to Stay:** [Hotel Vermont](https://travelikealocalvt.com/hotel-vermont-in-burlington-a-locally-inspired-boutique-hotel-worth-staying-at/) is my recommendation. It’s locally inspired, beautifully designed and conveniently located near Church Street Marketplace and the waterfront. **Where to Eat:** Juniper at Hotel Vermont is great for cocktails and dinner. [Hen of the Wood](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/hen-of-the-wood-burlington/) is a favorite for a more upscale meal, while Farmhouse Tap & Grill offers casual dining and an excellent Vermont beer selection. Honey Road for shareables. **What to Do:** Walk or bike the Burlington waterfront, explore the shops on Church Street or plan an afternoon visiting breweries in the South End. You could also book a cruise on Lake Champlain aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen. ## [Lake Champlain](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/lake-champlain/): A Summer Bachelorette Getaway at Basin Harbor If your idea of a great weekend involves swimming, boating and spending most of your time outdoors, consider Basin Harbor in Vergennes. **Where to Stay:** [Basin Harbor](https://travelikealocalvt.com/basin-harbor-vergennes-vermont/) has lakeside cottages and guest rooms scattered across its beautiful grounds. I love the traditional summer resort atmosphere, where you can park your car and spend several days enjoying the property. **Where to Eat:** The [Red Mill](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/red-mill-restaurant-at-basin-harbor/) is my pick for a casual meal, particularly its lobster roll. Ardelia’s offers a more refined dining experience, and the resort hosts seasonal waterfront dinners. Depending on the schedule, you may also find sushi, pizza and other casual dining options. **What to Do:** Rent kayaks or paddleboards, relax at the beach, play tennis or enjoy the golf course. I’d also recommend a narrated boat cruise and an evening cocktail overlooking Lake Champlain. Between the resort amenities, restaurants and outdoor activities, there’s plenty to fill a few days. **Where to Stay:** [Topnotch Resort](https://travelikealocalvt.com/topnotch-resort-stowe-vermont/) is my pick for a spa-focused weekend, with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs and mountain views. [The Lodge at Spruce Peak](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/spruce-peak/) is another option for a luxury stay at the base of the ski mountain. For something smaller, consider Edson Hill. **Where to Eat:** Book dinner at [Edson Hill](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/edson-hill/) for a more stunning setting or enjoy Austrian-inspired food and beer at von Trapp Brewing Bierhall. [Idletyme Brewing](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/idletyme-brewing/) is great for a casual meal, and The Bench is another popular choice for pizza and Vermont craft beer. **What to Do:** Book a spa afternoon at your hotel, hike to the [Moss Glens Fall](https://travelikealocalvt.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Moss-Glens-Falls-1.webp) waterfall, or explore the shops in Stowe Village. In summer and fall, ride the Stowe Gondola Skyride or walk the Stowe Recreation Path. Winter brings skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort, along with plenty of opportunities to relax by a fire afterward. ## [Manchester](https://travelikealocalvt.com/category/destinations/manchester/): Shopping & a Southern Vermont Getaway Manchester is another favorite for a girls’ weekend, particularly if your group enjoys shopping, art and great restaurants. **Where to Stay:** [The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/the-equinox/) is a classic Manchester option with a central location and spa amenities. For a smaller boutique experience, consider The Inn at Manchester or [The Taconic](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/the-kimpton-taconic-hotel/) for more modern rooms and cottages. **Where to Eat:** Silver Fork is a favorite for a special dinner, with a creative menu in a former library building. Mystico offers Italian food and cocktails in a lively setting. I’d also recommend CurATE Café at the Southern Vermont Arts Center for lunch with mountain views. **What to Do:** Spend an afternoon exploring the [Southern Vermont Arts Center](https://travelikealocalvt.com/places/southern-vermont-arts-center/)‘s 100-acre sculpture garden and galleries, then head downtown for shopping. Northshire Bookstore is a must for book lovers. Summer is ideal for lake activities and outdoor dining, fall brings foliage, and winter is wonderful for skiing and spa weekends. Spring can be quieter and more affordable, although some seasonal businesses close temporarily. **How Long to Stay:** I’d recommend at least two nights. That gives you time for a special dinner, an activity or two and a leisurely morning without feeling rushed. **Book Early:** Reserve accommodations, spa treatments and popular restaurants well in advance, particularly during foliage season and ski weekends. **Getting Around:** Burlington and Woodstock are relatively walkable once you’re downtown. For Stowe, Manchester and the Mad River Valley, having a car is helpful. **Consider a Vacation Rental:** For larger groups, renting a house can be more practical than booking several hotel rooms. Look for one with a comfortable common area so everyone has somewhere to gather. **Plan Around One Main Experience:** Rather than scheduling every hour, I’d choose one activity everyone is excited about, such as a spa afternoon, pottery class or lake cruise, and leave the rest of the weekend flexible. Vermont offers plenty of ways to celebrate without making the weekend overly complicated. Choose a destination that fits your group, book somewhere you’ll enjoy spending time and make a few dinner reservations.
